FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Questions Before You Reach Out
A few things people commonly want to know before starting therapy at Wayfinder. If your question isn’t here, just ask us directly.
General
What is therapy like at Wayfinder Therapy Collective?
Therapy at Wayfinder Therapy Collective is collaborative, unhurried, and built around where you are right now, not a fixed script everyone follows. Sessions focus on practical next steps, using evidence-based methods shaped to your specific goals rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
What issues can therapy help with?
Therapy at Wayfinder can help with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, stress management, grief and loss, life transitions, career concerns, identity development, and emotional wellness. Whether you’re dealing with a specific diagnosis or simply feeling stuck or overwhelmed, therapy offers a structured space to work through it.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
Wayfinder Therapy Collective draws on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Positive Psychology, Strengths-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Interventions, Person-Centered Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Techniques. Rather than applying one method to every client, we choose and combine approaches based on what actually fits your needs and goals.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy is worth considering if you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of your next step, you don’t need a crisis or diagnosis to benefit from it. A first conversation with a Wayfinder therapist can help you figure out if the fit feels right before you commit to anything.
Who We Help
Who does Wayfinder Therapy Collective work with?
Wayfinder Therapy Collective works with young adults, adults, couples, men, women, older adults, college students, and student-athletes. Clients come to us at very different life stages and with very different concerns, and each course of therapy is shaped around that individual rather than a generic template.
Do you offer couples therapy?
Yes, Wayfinder Therapy Collective offers couples therapy for partners working through marital conflict, infidelity, communication problems, trust rebuilding, and general relationship stress. Sessions are collaborative, with both partners actively involved in identifying what’s not working and building toward what does.
Do you work with college students and student-athletes?
Yes, Wayfinder Therapy Collective works with both college students and student-athletes, addressing performance anxiety, identity, academic and athletic balance, stress, life transitions, and mental performance.
